I have lived in Indiana for 41 years and never have seen a state with as many festivals as here. Party on.Fort Wayne - Zoo, Science Central.
Fair and Festival season, look for something that fits your schedule and desires.
Michigan lakeshore, like an ocean without the drive.
I remember going to the Cantigny museum as a kid.Cantigny gardens and 1st Inf. div museum in Wheaton Il.
Brookfield zoo in Brookfield Il.
You can carry in your car there and back but must disarm to get out.
Fair Oaks Farms!!!!
Seriously. Take the dairy tour. Then the hog tour. They have outdoor play attractions for the kids. A bovine birthing-barn. AND there are two restaurants. Expensive food, even at the "grille", but it's VERY GOOD FOOD.
And the place is, overall, amazing. Both in size/scope AND their energy practices. Worth it!
