The 15-year-old boy is one thing, but the high-powered rifles and spotlighting?!? Come on, that's crazy

Article should have stated "Deer Poachers", not deer hunters. That pizzes me off.
Lets call a spade a spade here. No way were they hunters.
+++ to the citizens, CO, and cops for nailing this trash.

Yes, when the media insists that they are "hunters" it is my opinion that it is deliberate.

Media also gets stuff like this wrong:

"The hunters now face possible criminal charges, because it is illegal to spotlight deer while in possession of a firearm, muzzleloader, bow and arrow or crossbow, police said."

Makes me angry when the pass along misinformation or create their own laws.

The real sad thing is I would bet it happens quite often. Think about how many people dont get caught. They deserve a strict penalty.

It happens way more than you think. Game wardens/Conservation Officers are a very small force and usually just 2-3 officers per county (maybe 1-2 depending on population of county). That officer was probably in the area so he was able to catch them, otherwise they more than likely would of got away.

Poachers are poachers regardless if they are 15 or 50. Why did the 15 year old think it was ok to use a muzzleloader in archery season? Perhaps he hunted the Youth season with it and just continued on. The laws are the laws and ignorance of them is no excuse.
