Yeah they were doing things like proposing budgets, bills to allow folk to take care of themselves medically, etc. They were opposing Obama and his socialist policies to keep him from destroying America. They opposed replacing a conservative originalist judge with a left wing revisionist, thereby changing the balance of the court.

A lot of the "obstruction" during the Obama administration was Harry Reid preventing legislation being brought to a vote. If the vote would endanger Democrat Senators being re-elected when they voted for it, Reid just didn't schedule it to come up and blamed the Republicans for blocking legislation. The Lap-Dog Media repeated his claim and that became the narrative.

I agree with all of the above. I' just tickled that the Dems went straight to the playbook that they had scolded the Republicans for using for 8 years.

I'm never going to like police brass wearing stars.

Especially that many of them. If the sheriff wears four stars, how many of his employees are decked out like brigadier, major, and lieutenant generals?

I recall a town marshal is a small Boone County town wearing the circular five-star General of the Army insignia on his collar. And he was the entirety of the paid, full-time officers working for the town.

    Hubris.

The last thing that bothers me about that picture is the stars.

I particularly have a problem with the militarization of the police, and I speak as a retired LEO. We are not at war with the populace, and should not dress or act as such.

The stars are, IMHO, just something additionally wrong with the whole thing.

I'm never going to like civilian peace officers wearing balaclavas like they have something to hide

I still remember the exact moment that I realized that the law enforcement profession that my father and I had served was gone and that it was time to retire.

It was when I saw men from my agency conducting a drug raid on a house with bags over their heads.
