Possible shooting at Elementary School in Connecticut

So while this is going down and all the schools in the district go to lock down mode as well as the local hospital per this article:

and it seems SWAT and various LEOs are heading to the school what about the rest of the town? Is it left undefended per say?

Thinking of that Die Hard movie where all the police take off to the schooles while the crooks steal the gold

Now CNN is reporting that the death toll is 27, with 18 of them children. The school is for grades k-4, so they're all young kids. One shooter dead, a second shooter in custody (?).

CNN says one of the shooters was 24 years old, armed with 4 weapons, and wearing bulletproof vest. I'm not going to believe that last part until I hear from several police sources. The media can't tell the difference between a bomb proof suit and a fishing vest these days.

Just tell him the cops that saved everyone are no different than a regular citizen trained in firearms use except if the TEACHERS were armed there would have been a whole lot less murdered children.

Tell him that the cops didn't go in with loudspeakers yelling "It is a felony to carry a gun in a school!" they took their OWN guns in and shot the bastards.

I told my wife to change our daughter's Dr appt from next Fri for that very reason. Guess some psycos don't have their calanders marked correctly.

I imagine this will continue for the next month at least.
