My daughter bought a used NAA .22 magnum and shot it for the first time today. After only 10 rounds her hand looked like the picture below...significant amount of powder residue and she said it felt like something was hitting her face and it was stinging....is this normal or maybe some type of issue with the firearm? If its an issue, what is likely the cause....Thanks for any help

Magnum case, itty-bitty short barrel ...not enough time for all the powder to burn in the barrel, and a bunch of it is escaping out the muzzle, where it's either igniting or just blowing away. Add to that the tiny little gun where the grip is in very close proximity to the muzzle (and forcing cone gap), and you get the outcome that you are seeing there.
