AR-15 is a White Oak Armament 18" SPR upper in 223 wylde where I swapped the free float tube out for a rail. Wanted some form of backup sights and tried out the XS 45 degree sights. If the scope was just a fuzz higher they're probably be great, but as it stands, the backup sights are just too low to be good for much of anything. My Kestral 5.56 lives on this rifle and that's why there's also the IR laser on the top rail. It's a cheapo/better than nothing IR for use with night vision. Since the rifle has the can it also gets the IR. Scope is a Nikon M223 3-12 with BDC. I may end up swapping out the Nikon for another Vortex PST like the 2.5-10X FFP MOA. Lower is a PSA with Geielle SSA trigger, Magpul Miad grip, and Magpul ACS stock. Otherwise just a standard run of the mill ar-15, :):

Bolt gun is a 700 SPS AAC-SD in 308. Just put it in the magpul stock because I wanted a synthetic stock with pillar bedding, and the detachable mag option was just icing on the cake. I can't say enough about how ridiculously simple the magwell install was and how well it works. So far, two 5rd mags work just fine and two 10rd mags work just fine. I'm on the fence about swapping the trigger out on the rifle. The "adjustable" part of the Remington trigger was a joke. I cranked it all the way one way and couldn't feel a difference and cranked it to the other end to the point the adjustable screw fell out and barely noticed any difference. If I had to guess I'd say it's just over 4#'s on the trigger weight so there's probably some accuracy to be gained there. Scope is a Vortex PST 6-24x FFP MOA and I love it. Just popped it off my old go to precision rifle to put on this Remington 700 because I got tired of hand loading match ammo for a 30-06.

Thanks for showing that 700 Teddy, that thing looks sweet. I just ordered up a 700 sps tactical and the magpul stock, except in fde because I'm a sucker for that color. Glad to hear the mags are working well, I hear nothing but good things about it.

While it's not a "precision" rifle, it gets the job done at 500-700 yards.

I just finished putting my Mossberg MVP in 5.56 with a 20" fluted barrel into it's new chassis. I've had the rifle for a little while, but just recently picked up the MDT LSS Chassis. The new chassis is a bit heavier than the original laminated stock, but I don't feel like I am holding a kid's .22 Cricket when I pick the thing up now. I do think there are areas they could have removed a bit more material though, to lighten it up a bit.

I was undecided on what stock I wanted to go with, so for the time being I went the economical route and threw a Magpul MOE mil-spec stock on it. I didn't opt for FDE, but went that route because I got a deal on the chassis from another member on here. One thing I did notice when I got the chassis is that the ergonomics of the AR magazine release aren't as great as they are on an actual AR, this is why I installed an ODIN Works extended magazine release. The extended release doesn't make it perfect, but it's a lot better now and didn't break the bank.

Short of maybe swapping to a different stock, the only other things I would like to do are a larger bolt knob and have the muzzle threaded.

Thanks for showing that 700 Teddy, that thing looks sweet. I just ordered up a 700 sps tactical and the magpul stock, except in fde because I'm a sucker for that color. Glad to hear the mags are working well, I hear nothing but good things about it.

Great minds think alike. That's exactly what and how I was going to setup until I walked in AGS and they had my 700 threaded sps tact in a black hunter 700 stock all put together. I couldn't say no and I knew eventually I'm going to give it the krylon special paint job if it shoots the way I want it to.

This is going to be a do it all for me. I plan on taking it into the woods for deer season and also starting to stretch things out a bit. My ultimate goal is to ring steel at 800 with this. It's a Rem 700 SPS Tactical in .308. The scope is a Vortex Diamondback HP 3-12x42. I have the detachable mag kit on order, and still need to come up with a sling and maybe a bipod.

Both these rigs were picked up on here. Left is a .22-250 700 VS with a Triggertech trigger. Right is .300 Win Mag 700 Police. Both are wearing Xtreme Hardcore one-piece mounts, Vortex matched rings, and Viper PST's 6-24 (liked the initial setup on the 22-250 that I copied it for the 300). Not pictured is the 308 700 VS, it's curentry under construction.

This is an update on my precision rifle (see post #737) The work was done by INGO's very own AllenM of Moore Gunworks & Diamond Collision and member Deene Vanmeter.

It started life as a Remington 700 Varmint 300 Win Mag.

All the work that was done is as follows, Build thread here: https://www.indianagunowners.com/forums/diamond-collision/414869-1911ly-rem-700-300wm-build.html

Complete Blueprint of the action. Allen and Deene also added a external bolt stop (custom profiled).

New Bartlein Palmer Match 29 inch barrel. Custom machined to fit the reworked action.

    Trued the recoil lug

Custom made fluted bolt with M16 extractor, extended bolt handle & oversize bolt knob

    Timney 510 trigger

    Bedded action to the receiver.

    Leupold AR-6 scope

20 MOA EGW Base & YHM scope rings, Base and rings were hand lapped in.

    Custom made Muzzle brake.

Harris front Bipod and Accu-shot rear mono pod.

The rifle was refinished in Cerakote Sniper gray, the bolt finished in Cerakote Micro Slick.

Allen and Deene are truly real craftsmen. I asked them to build it like they owned it. And they really knocked it out of the park! It shoots .5 moa at 125 yards with off the shelf hunting ammo. I will be working on some hand loads for it. I am eager to see how well they do.

Thanks Allen and Deene for all the extra hard work and extra effort that I know you put in to my rifle! I am a happy man!

If you are wanting a custom 700 built you all know who to contact ;-)

    Enjoy, Larry
