A socialist posted this on another site and said, "This is the one time he is right, and its about another country. Too bad he hates America so much." When challenged, the poster told me that Obama is the lesser of two evils. The same exact logic is used on both sides of the paradigm. But I digress.

I don't understand why candidates always have to pander to Israel. And Romney, as usual, sounds like he wouldn't know a free market from a hole in the ground.

    War is Peace

The trip was not complete without stepping up the war rhetoric against Iran. Using his global interventionist logic, Romney insisted that War is Peace!

Romney's Israel speech: Iran will be 'highest national security priority'
"It is sometimes said that those who are the most committed to stopping the Iranian regime from securing nuclear weapons are reckless and provocative and inviting war," Romney said. "The opposite is true. We are the true peacemakers."

According to the article, he said:

When our health care costs are completely out of control. Do you realize what health care spending is as a percentage of the GDP in Israel? 8 percent. You spend 8 percent of GDP on health care. And you’re a pretty healthy nation. We spend 18 percent of our GDP on health care. 10 percentage points more. That gap, that 10 percent cost, let me compare that with the size of our military. Our military budget is 4 percent. Our gap with Israel is 10 points of GDP. We have to find ways, not just to provide health care to more people, but to find ways to finally manage our health care costs.

Though his history doesn't give me a warm, fuzzy feeling on this, he's not necessarily advocating an Israeli style system. But things like "we HAVE TO PROVIDE...." are concerning, I agree.
