I had issues with Selliers & Bellot large pistol primers. I used these in .45 Colt and a Rossi Circuit Judge. 5 rounds, 3 clicks, 2 bangs. Sometimes worse. I trimmed the firing pin spring and got the same results.

Today I got a pack of Winchester WLP and a pack of CCI 300 primers and loaded some up of each. results were:

    S&B 5 rounds 3 clicks, 2 bangs.
Winchester 5 rounds, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.
CCI 5 rounds, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.

When I can find them I'll try Magtech the same way.

I have used several sleeves of MagTech primers, even in revolvers with target lightened hammer springs, Never had a failure.

Also consider chain of custody variable for your test material "primers"... Handling, environmental exposure, and age, etc.

I'm sure there are variables to consider. Click-no fire was mentioned on other forums about the Circuit Judge, trimming the firing pin spring is supposed to help cure that. I've used a couple thousand Magtech small pistol primers in auto loaders without a problem. The S&B primers work fine in the 1911. an occasional click isn't too bad with a revolver... just pull the trigger again.

About the only primers I've had issues with are Wolf. I'd have to be hard up to buy them again...which might be soon the way things are going

I will second the opinion on Wolf primers.
I purchased a couple thousand during the last primer shortage (2009) when they were the only ones available. I still have most of them left and only use them for plinking ammo when I don't mind the malf drills.

... making note to self: "avoid Wolf primers"

Thanks for the heads up. the 45 Colts are for wifey's SHTF rifle. I need to reload this caliber for economy and I need hers to go bang every time. The 1911 45ACP eats anything i feed it.
