Anyone have one of these? I want to do my first AR build that will ultimately be an SBR, but I would assume engraving the polymer is a no-go?

What scares me about ordering from PSA right now are a couple of things. No indication when if ever something will ship after placing the order and I believe a 20% cancellation fee if you decide you have waited long enough and wish to purchase elsewhere. Does PSA charge your card the moment the order is placed or when it ships?

I'm sure the poly lowers are fine, but do you really want to spend $200 for a stamp on a plastic lower? Save your money, and give it a couple weeks, standard lowers will be back.

You could....... but making an SBR out of a poly lower is kind of like making a hot rod out of a Ford Escort..... sure, you can, but why? ;)

Kind of what I was thinking. Im in no rush, but an in stock lower for $70? If it would work, why not!

They are backed up. I ordered 300 BO ammo on 12/27 and just got it this evening. Yes, PSA charges at the time the order is placed.

I've used this exact lower. There is no way I would use it for a sbr, I dont even thing engraving one would be possibable.

Mine is ok for the price, but the upper doesnt fit quite right (Pin spacing is just a touch off. Its usable but not perfect.)

I have one and I think the quality is great my double star upper mounted right on it and everything fits great no filing or modifying at all. I'm thinking about buying another one.

Sorry fellas, I didn't realize it was a Poly. I got too excited when I saw it I just copied the link and posted it here.

I didn't order one seeing I don't have a need for one right now.

    where at for 40

whitakers was selling them for 39.99 before the "current political fiasco" but the last batch they got in were 49.99

BUT since we live in indiana, they have to go thru a ffl, they use j&s and they charge 20.00 for a transfer(unless you know someone with a ffl who will transfer for free:))

idk why all the hate on the poly lowers? dont get me wrong, from the first time i saw a glock i said "who wants a plastic handgun?" then came smith, ruger,h&k(yes i know the vp-70 was the first poly hand gun but it didnt go over that well),colt,cz, and lots others, hell dodge made a viper with poly wheels, if a 200 mph car can have plastic wheels, and glock has a 1st gen model with over 1mm rounds, why cant a ar15 have a poly lower? dont full auto hk ump's have plastic lowers?

oh btw i love my glock 19 (yes i said it, i own a glock, after bashing "plastic" handguns for so long, i bought one, and yes i ate crow!)

I dont see them as having any advantage.

I understand it in the world of pistols where probably 75% of the weight of a pistol comes from the frame, but in a rifle like the AR you hang so much stuff off the receiver, that the weight savings really aren't that significant.

Plus, when police/military start using poly lowers and really putting them through their paces I'll give them more of a look.

no idea on the HK, but if its not an M16/AR style rifle then apples vs. oranges.
