So let me ask this. If a guy took a Glock 26 and removed the slide from the frame and put the slide in the glove box and the frame in the locked trunk would he be legal to drive into OH stop to do some errands and then drive back to the great state of IN? Just curious, not admitting to anything, just asking.

As long as the frame is unloaded and in the trunk, I'm not aware that slides are governed by law. The slide being on the frame in the trunk would make no difference.

The idea on separating the two would have been that the gun was 100% out of commission and stored in separate areas of vehicle. That'd have to at least be a show of good faith in the eyes of the police, or at least a jury.

No more good faith is required than adhering to the silly law. Good faith and common sense apart from that won't help you.
For example, if you reversed the two components and had the frame in the glove box with the slide in the trunk it would still be illegal in Ohio without a recognized permit.

I just returned from 5 days spent in the libtard state of Ohio. I decided to leave my weapon at home, as I didn't think it was very smart in loading and unloading a weapon in some parking lot 5 times a day.
Also, if you carry a knife, be sure to trudge through the jacked up knife laws. Very, very vague.
