I am NOT a LEO, but I have stayed at SEVERAL Holiday Inn's.

My "guess" is a DUI coupled with an extenuating circumstance like excessive speed, left of center, etc etc.
And DUI isn't exclusively alcohol related, could very well be and most is a controlled substance, prescription drugs, meth, weed, etc etc.

My money is on a good employee made a BAD mistake?

    1. Indiana does not have such an offense.

    2. Indiana does have operating a motor vehicle while having a schedule I or II controlled substance in the blood or its metabolite (now, say that three times quick).

    3. Operating While Intoxicated (need not be booze--pills, dope, horse, gasoline, glue, etc.) with endangerment is a Class A misdemeanor (0 to 365 days, 0 to 5K fine). Without the endangerment it is a Class C misdemeanor (0 to 60 days, 0 to $500 fine, aka OWI-C).

    4. If this individual has a prior within 5 years, then it can be a felony (D, 0 to 10K, 6 months to 3 years).

    5. Habitual Substance Offender may apply as well.

    6. Blood tests now are very common as even the small counties have funding for blood tests (with warrant or consent).

The first part is pretty obvious, the endangerment likely means there were children in the vehilce.

Weeeelllllll, maybe, but please remember having kids in the car while doing it is a separate offense and a felony at that.

My guess is that our friend Gabe has been on the street a while.:D

Who administers these blood tests and what qualifications do they have?
The phlebotomist at the local hospital, under the supervision of a physician, draws the blood.

The actual testing is done off site (out of county for most of us), usually at AIT in Indianapolis I think...

Endangerment needs not have children present in the vehicle. The act of OWI endangers other drivers on the road, and must be articulated.

As for blood draws. I go to a bonafide hospital and have a nurse perform the act.

Liar. You swab it off the pavement after you've bounced their head a few times. We know the truth. :)
