Hey fellas, it's been a while since I have been on here and I could use some help identifying this 1911. The slide is a parkerized looking Colt series 70, the frame on the other hand is a glossy US Army labeled piece that looks like it has a Springfield stamp but the serial number Colt says is a 1943 model. There are alot of numbers and letters stamped on it and I don't know what any of them mean.

IMHO it appears to be a frankengun. The frame is 1943 era Colt US Property that someone has put a modern Colt 70 series slide on. The frame does have a US arsenal marking on it. The trigger is not original to the gun. US military firearms did not have adjustable triggers installed.

I am sure that I missed something that our fellow INGOers will fill in the gaps for you.

I don't believe anyone else mentioned this, but just to clarify one point; the frame has been refinished.
With all the markings on that frame (Guy Drewry inspected, US Army Ordinance Corps crossed cannons on the right side) and somebody blued it. AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!

Yeah I am thinking that all of you guys are right. Is there anyway to value this? Not that i plan to sell it...but i would like to know if I should have walked away.
P.S. I am going to shoot it tomorrow to see if it shoots any good.

I agree with most of what was said. It is a military issue framed parts gun. The frame is "over polished", but it might have had a lot of pitting to get out. No collector value. If it shoots reliably and accurately, I'd say its value is as a "shooter" only. I recon the value would be somewhere in the vicinity of $500.00.
