    I've been working on finishing the basement, and all the electrical has gone fairly easy minus this last problem that has me stumped.

    I'm running the bathroom on a 20A circuit with 12/2 romex feeding the bathroom and all the fixtures. I bought a Broan NuTone vent/light/heater all in one, and a Broan NuTone 3 function switch.

    I'm trying to figure out how to wire the switch to the fixture using romex. My first though is to just get a short run of 12/3 romex and use the black, red, and white all as hot wires since I don't believe I need a neutral for this application, but I wanted to check with the collective knowledge here first.

    Thanks

    Looks like u can run that fan with 1 switch or 2 switches. Depends on how you want it to operate. 12/2 will work with 1 switch. Just combine at the fan.

    If your power is originating at the fan/light then you could just run two 12/2 lines down to your switch. Just identify to yourself what you would use as switch legs.

    Example: Black = light
    Black with red tape= fan
    White with red tape = heater
    White with black tape = power/hot

    If your power originates at the switch then two 12/2 lines to the light

    example:
    Black= light
    Black taped red = fan
    white taped red = heater
    White passes neutral through up to light.
