    Pretty cool. I believe NASA has been researching similar technologies to launch space craft.

    I read about that, I think ONR is the furthest along. At least they are based on the research i have done... and I am in no way an expert.

    I agree. From what you posted it looks like they are much further than NASA. Interesting that the technology will most likely be used to send much larger projectiles (like satellites and space craft) into orbit some day. Definitely cool stuff.

    The military always gets the cool toys. Ive said it before, but this is a game changer. If the tech can be perfected it could essentially revolutionize how our entire military conducts business. Kinetic energy weapons are nothing new, its just a matter of how do we develop them.

    Its worth every penny. The idea that we could finally develop a generation of kinetic weapons is fascinating. We can go bigger and better than anything we currently have, with none of the nasty aftereffects of popping off nukes. Im just waiting for them to put these things in space.

    Give it a few years and this is tech that could be applied to darn near any weapon system.
