I keep a first aid kit in mine, playing cards and a staple gun for putting targets up. I also keep moist towelettes in their as well so I can do a quick cleanup if I don't have access to a sink.

I always keep a small kit of tools (allen wrenches, punches, multi-tools) and whatever type of lubrication I’m using at the time.

A small first aid kit is a must.

A small bottle of sun screen (if you are shooting outdoors in the summer).

I had to look up what that was. Hopefully that never happens, but would just a simple cleaning rod do? :dunno:

Anything that will push one out. A good solid cleaning rod should do the job. The closer the rod is to the diameter of the barrel the better. Wood dowel can work also. Hopefully you will never need it but on those rare occasions that you do, you are screwed without it. I've seen it happen 3 times in the last year either by someone shooting with me or someone else at the range. Funny thing is I haven't taken my own advice and put one in my own bag yet. All the other stuff is always in there.

First aid is very important, I have a trauma kit (gloves, shears, a bunch of 5X9 ABD pads, medical tape, tourniquet ...) in my range bag in order to treat gun shot wounds.

You dont need much in your range bag beside the basics (ear muffs/plugs, safety glasses, targets, masking tape, ammo, guns ...).
I also bring a small gun mat to protect the finish of my guns.

I always carry a mutlitool just in case but I never use tools at the range, I dont bring my cleaning kit either.
You will just figure out what you need and dont need after you go to the range a few times.
I think its easy to bring too much crap that you will never need.
Unless you are a gunsmith you dont really need to bring a bunch of tools.
If you forget something that you need you will probably find someone at the range who would be glad to help a new shooter.

The most important is to bring a bunch of ammo!

Bumping this thread that I found with a search. Another discussion taught me to put a first aid kit in my range bad. :ugh: I then went on a search to see what else I forgot to include. To add the the list, I also put additional identification and emergency contact info in my bag.

I used to be stupid! INGO has me covered.
