I understand the issue with sharing loading data. BUT! Does anyone have or know of a good source for reduced loads for 458 Winchester Mag.
I use Load Data quite a bit and would still like to have more data.
    thanks,

How reduced? I have successfully used heavy 45-70 load data in a 458 WIN cartridge for a WAY less violent load. My best solution was trading that safari caliber rifle in on something less punishing. I have not run into a lot of cape buffalo in Indiana.

These will put you under Springfield Trapdoor levels. The 300gr load looks like a good whitetail load.

You can also use H4895 and the 60% rule for youth loads with Hodgdon data.

Thank you very much. I found bullets and brass. Anxious to load some up and have some fun. I did a search and found the Trail Boss data. Looks like it will work great. Thank you,

Trail boss is very forgiving in 45-70 with 400+ grain bullets. I'm sure you will find a mild trail boss load that is considered a "plinker" in your big bore mag

If I'm not mistaken, the same dies do 458. And 45-70... different shell holders. Any 45-70 load should be ok, even loads for the trapdoor Springfield ..those are very pleasant to shoot.

No it is not the one at Fort Branch. Acme Guns in Seymour got this one for me. Great deal too.
As soon as the brassm bullets and dies get here I will be doing some loading.
Yea, I am looking forward to seeing what the loads with Trail Boss can do.

    Near the big river.
I have shot and reloaded for the 458 for 35 years. One of my favorite calibers. Any 45-70 load is useable.

I like 405 gr cast bullets at 1200-1400 fps for an easy shooting load.
