Remington 700 base

Gentlemen,

I am going to be in Indy tomorrow and wondered where I might pick up a nicer base for a Remington 700. I know a lot of places stock Weaver, but I was thinking of something a little higher end. Any suggestions?

Leupold bases are of the redfield design, if you can find a shop that deals in leupold scopes, they should carry the bases as well.

I'm not a fan of the standard Leupold bases, but I love the dual dovetail ones they make. Probably the stoutest setup I've ever ran.

You may find Nightforce and P.R.I. bases at Elmore's in Greenwood if you're willing to travel a little farther south.

Weaver bases and Burris Signature Zee rings- the rings are nice since they don't scratch scopes and allow for offset bushings if need be.

You can get Signature rings of Leupold/Redfield type as well.

The NightForce Direct Mount bases are my choice for solid mounting on the 700s. They eliminate multi-piece bases and are extremely sturdy. You may have problems finding them locally, but Sniper Company in Fort Wayne had them in the case when I got my last set.
