Typical media bias, but I'd just like to point something out.

The media is only showing the peaceful gatherings after the Zimmerman trial. I've not seen one clip on any news station about the protesters getting violent.

If you're like me you like to watch that ****, so around 12a (9pm EST) is when **** usually goes down on the west coast. I generally watch 2 or 3 live chopper streams and listen to oakland/LA/sanfran police radio while this happens. Every night since the verdict they've been breaking windows, setting flags on fire, running on tops of cars, looting buildings, taggings walls, stopping traffic and taking up the entire road and just being a general problem for the city. Last night the cops deployed tear gas on the crowd and i've not heard one thing about that since. I think 12 to 24 people were arrested lastnight also. The mayor even came out and made a statement about the city being on tactical alert.

I'm just curious why they aren't showing this to people.

    2 reasons I think.

First, they may be genuinely attempting to discourage other places to copy-cat.

Second, they are rather embarrassed at the inability to control their subjects.

Either way, it's not straight up honesty in reporting. It's always been served up how they choose to do so. Hard to expect them to give an honest appraisal of the stupidity surrounding it all.

What TV shows are you watching? Sesame Street doesn't generally deal with these kinds of issues, but on CBS This Morning I saw clips of 'protestors' surrounding cars at stoplights and generally being idiots. Probably similar on the other morning shows but my wife watches CBS.

I think the city was Oakland. If it is Oakland's mayor who stated his police were on tactical alert I would challenge him to name the last time time they weren't.

I've seen our news talking about "acts of violence during the protests", but they won't say what's done or mention the word "riot".
