Several years ago in 2007 I moved into an apartment on Jan 1st and got a new phone number. Little did I know that at one time that number had been assigned to the state police as a local road conditions number. Over Valentines weekend that year we had a huge ice storm in SE Indiana and I discovered this interesting tidbit of info. Starting at like 4:00 am the phone began ringing ever 30 seconds. After asking one of the callers where he got that phone number I ran a Google search and sure enough, my phone number popped up.

Giving Verizon kudos, when I called them to complain they changed my phone number instantly and took care of the problem.

I would have had fun with that one. "No sir, Its a heatwave here. Its only snowing at your house." or leave outgoing message on your machine with a new number, maybe your mother-in-laws. :):
