I have owned this Ruger 10/22 since the early 80's and lately I felt one of us was getting too old to hit the target as effectively as we used to.
Since the Ruger has more rounds through it than I could count I was blaming it.
    Midway USA to the rescue:
    1.) E.R. Shaw Barrel Ruger 10/22 22 Long Rifle .920 Diameter 1 16 Twist 18
2.) Hogue OverMolded Rifle Stock Ruger 10/22 .920 Barrel Channel

The ER Shaw barrel had some good reviews so I took the plunge.

Tough to shoot in the wind today but I was pleased with the results considering this was with no rest. Next will be a new scope and decent sling.

Let me get this straight. I am a rookie at this so I want to make sure I understand what just happened. :n00b:

First, the original 10/22, wood stock and blued barrel, was worn out.

Second, the owner bought a new synthetic stock, a new barrel, and a scope.

Third, the original weapon was "upgraded" so that it is now an accurate 10/22, leading doglb to write, "10/22's they will shoot forever."

My question: What remained of the original weapon except the trigger assembly and receiver? How can this be considered the same weapon? Does this mean that as long as a single part of a unit remains, the original continues? :dunno:

Just trying ot figure out how this works.
