I shot a friends ruger P95 over the weekend and have a chance to buy it at a good price. I have no experience with ruger semi autos, anyone have one and what do you think? I really liked it and though it was a nice gun.

    The P95?

Excellent gun. I have one (P95DC, no safety, decock only) that has over 1500 rounds without a single malfunction. Stripping for cleaning is easy with no small parts to lose. Accuracy is good, I'm a decent shot, and I can get all 16 on a paper plate at 10 yards rapid fire, all 16 in a hand size group slow fire. Gun is built like a Ruger should be, that is to say... it is big. It's a full size semi-auto, despite the 4" barrel. Not everyone likes that.

If you like it get it.

    Blued (black) or stainless slide?

The blued is not stainless, so care for it appropriately.

I have to add my thumbs up for the P95. I bought mine after reading a magazine article where they torture tested one of the first out, firing 20,000 rounds with proper maintenance and then checked it and found no measurable wear! I was sold.

Mine has been 100% reliable, was originally my carry piece until I got my Kahr PM9, and now resides in by bedroom as my "nightstand gun".

About the only complaint I have is I have been spoiled by the way my Beretta 92 takes down, but once I remember the little ejector that has to be pushed down before slide removal, I am fine with it. Talking about picking nits!

Good gun at a low price, P-95s are reliable and durable , priced less than most similar quality guns. Hard to go wrong with one. Good luck on getting yours home!

It is very hard to go wrong with one of those and as had been said before, if you like it DO IT!

I shoot with several guys that own and shoot the hell out of their Rugers and I haven't seen one have a problem yet. Fantastic guns, great customer service, very well priced...very hard to beat!

My wife loves hers. I prefer my Glock, but have no complaints with her P95, other than it's tricky to field strip (rather, tricky to put back together). I'd give it 4 out of 5 bulls-eyes.
