Looking for the 10/22 clear ruger 10 round mags anyone seen them on sale? $24 each is the best I can find. Since it is for a project (dying them) I am hesitant to pay that much! So I figure I’d ask and see if anyone has seen anything on sale or cheaper than $24 each. Thanks for any help.

I've seen reports that the newer ones aren't truly clear but are frosted and it sorta clear. I use the Tandemkross double mag bodies.

Those are pretty pricey but would be nice having 20 rounds in such a compact package. And it would be nice having something to grab onto. Do they work well? (Just as good as the stock mags?)

They work great. I use them for steel challenge where they have to feed when you are shooting fast and they are very dependable. They also make them with a triple mag body. I didn't like the width of the 2 mags hanging out of the rifle.

You can buy the body and use the parts from 2 stock mags or buy them already assembled with TK parts.

The TK feed lips are polymer. I've not had any issues with the ones I've used.

Here is one listing for the clear mags:

    Here is another:

    TK doublekross bodies:

I have seen a lot of reports that the recently manufactured clear mags look like the second listing. I wouldn't care for my use, but the folks over on rimfire central who are dying these prefer the really clear ones like the first listing.

Well in case anyone is following along the TK mags melt in the pot when trying to dye them. Don’t ask me how I know. And the real kicker they don’t accept a DROP of color.

Bare Arms in Noblesville sells them for $17 a pop.

I think they charge a flat $7 "handling" fee, so not worth it if you're just buying one, but if you need a bunch, you might save a few bucks there. There's also a credit card fee, which isn't a lot, but still yikes.

Ok so for you tandemkross guys……. I just wanted to let you know if you didn’t already their customer service is top notch. I had an open email going back and forth about another issue with customer service.

So I took the time to let them know about their mags not being dyable to maybe save a headache for someone down the line they said “well we never heard of anyone dying them but if they are warped we have a lifetime warranty and we will send replacements”
