Several friends of mine purchased the Ruger KP345PR about the same time. The gun is flat and nice to carry. They all shot pretty well out of the box. When the gun is empty and handled like dry firing with snap caps or cycling the slide by hand after assembly it was noticed that the gun locks up by several people. The cause is that the hammer drift pin works its way out of the frame. If the pin is pushed back , the guns function again. A couple of these guns were sent to Ruger and they said that when ever gun is operated, always keep a unloaded mag in to keep the pin from drifting. Also the pin can get bent so always check it when purchasing a used one. The guns check out fine, Just keep a mag in it at all times. This problem existed for a couple of years and there is nothing to cure it. I was told the P90 is the same but I don't know. Everyone sold their guns at the shows and purchased Sig 220's. More research is needed on this gun by a independent consumer group. If anyone else experienced the same problem, Pass it on to our members and friends.
