S&W M&P 40...any reason why not?

I am very close to getting a S&W M&P 40. Is there anything I should know that could change my mind?

It's a great gun. AND, you can shoot 9mm and .357 with it as well, by changing out the barrels......

I think you um didn't talk me out of it, so that is a good thing. It is always good to know the good and the bad. I had heard some bad on these, but that was early in the product cycle for this line.
I am going to get one with the thumb safety. Some may not like it, but I am going to get it with the safety. I can always remove it if I find it not to my liking.

Ill tell you why not.....because glocks also come in .40.......j/k.....m&p are nice pistols...id like one but sig is next on list

Wonderful handgun, and the caliber choice you have there is a winner too. I love the .40 S&W cartridge.
