I have the new S&W M&P Bodyguard 380 (not the bodyguard with the laser). While firing it at the range yesterday I would fully pull the trigger (which simultaneously cocks the hammer) and experienced a delay in the hammer release of about one second on several rounds. It was weird to pull the trigger and to have to wait before the gun fired. Another person fired it to confirm it wasn't just me and experienced the same issue. Any ideas as to the potential causes? Thanks.

I never think of cleaning new firearms, but now I do and I did clean my latest purchase (S&W M&P 22 compact-Love it BTW!!!) before I went to the range.
Re:380 bodyguard hammer release delay-I contacted S&W re: the problem and they had me send it in. I received it this week after about 3 weeks with S&W. On the repair order completion form for the performed service it states: "evaluate/repair/adjust trigger bar". That's it. I have dry fired it and the hammer releases with the trigger pull as it should. Am I curious how the trigger bar became out of adjustment in the first place? I had only had it to the range maybe on 4 occasions and shot less than 100 rounds through it? Wish S&W would have provided more details.
