Saiga .223 conversion questions.

I'm thinking about getting a Saiga in .223 and have read where they can take Galil mags. I've read where some take the Tapco's better but not so much with steel mags. What needs to be done to make the steel mags run because I don't want to waste my time with Tapco. Also, I found the trunnion bullet guides and was wondering what the difference is between round guide and the flat guide are.

I know some people say just go with Circle 10 mags but I'd rather spend half and get Galil mags. Any help is appreciated.

I picked up this a while back and it is a blast. It runs flawlessly with the polymer Tapco mags and I really like paying as little as $10/mag.

The use of round vs flat bullet guides is determined by the rifle. Dinzag arms has some clear, helpful illustrations showing this.

No, never tried the steel mags. Since the tapco poly galil mags are cheap, reliable and plentiful, I never bothered.
