Savage 1911?

Listening to gun talk radio with Mark Walters interviewing someone from Savage.
They mentioned that Savage is now producing 1911's with no MIM parts.
All tool steel!

Any Ingoer's seen or have one of these?

FWIW, at this price point, I'd like to see a checkered front strap. But the offerings look sweet and I'm also interested in real-world INGO comments. I am fond of Savage as a brand and hope these are well received.

If I recall they only offered the promise of being decent, with no track record. I think MSRP was around $1500 which seems steep for something that has not been vetted. Just my .02
