Ran across a thread that was discussing a 410 upper on an Ar-15 lower.

Got me thinking a little and just looking for clarification.

If you build using a AR-15 lower with a short barrel 410 upper.
Is it a SBR or an SBS? I presume the barrel makes the destinction?
I guess it could be an AOW if you didn't go the stock route?

I don't know if it matters on the lower being a virgin receiver or not? (except I know it would have to be for the AOW)

    What is it? :D

Thats where I figure the definition would lie.

    Followup.

Take a virgin receiver - with a pistol build - add the Smooth Bore 410 upper. Would this be an AOW?

Yes. That is essentially what a Serbu Super Shorty is. A shotgun "pistol" built on a virgin receiver.

Not all Serbu's are built on virgin receivers. They also build them on factory pistol grip guns and they used to build them on customers factory supplied pistol grip guns (with proper documentation).
