Right now I have an airgun scope (Leapers 3-9x32AO) on my Savage. This scope is OK, but the reticle is a thickish mil-dot. I just use it for target shooting at 25-50-100 yards. I prefer AO because of my eyesight.

The magnifications I use are the 6x and 9x. Could use a better/finer reticle and probably 40 mm objective. Would like to stay under $125 or thereabouts.

Must be easy to adjust elevation and windage.

    Suggestions? Thanks!

I went with Burris EZ rings and a Bushnell Banner 4x12x40 scope on my MKII. The scope was $119 and the rings where $30.

I ran a BSA 3-7x40mm Sweet 22 on my MKII for a while. I thought it was a great little scope. At $75 a couple years ago, it was really affordable. It was good for 50 to 175 yards with interchangeable bullet drop turrets calculated to compensate for the elliptic drop of a 36, 38 & 40 grain .22 bullet.

I switched to a BSA 6-24x40mm just for more magnification and I like the flexibility that a MilDot reticle yeilds. My farthest confirmed shots, no MOA talk here, were out to 200 yards on steel. The only confirmation I was ever going for was of the audible variety. Overkill, possibly. Fun, absolutely. I think I got the scope for $70 about a year ago from Natchez Shooting Supplies.

I know, a lot of people out there don't like BSA Scopes, but I have never had an issue out of mine, and I'm still pleased.

I have a Simmons 4-12x40AO TruPlex that works very well on any Savage 22lr rifle with Weaver Grand Slam medium or high scope rings.

I've got one of the 3-9x40 BSA Sweet 22's on my varmint barreled 10/22 and I really like it. And it has the AO as well. I think its a pretty nice scope for the money.
