Anyone here do their own scrimshaw? I watched some videos on youtube on how to do it (pretty much just need a needle, doll rod, and some India ink). I am thinking I might give it a try on a set of Faux Ivory grips and see what I can do.
Wondering if anyone has any experience with this or any tips/tricks.
I am trying to make the grips off of Angelina Jolie's Matchmaster in Wanted so the design is not all that complicated.

Let me know what you guys think.

A shop in Camden, ME had some cool scrimshaw work from a guy that used to hunt with LL bean. I cant remember his name but he was also a decoy carver. Pretty cool stuff. Post up pics of your progress.

Get hold of a guy in Nineveh named Ron Newton. He's been doing it for years and wrote a book on learning to scrimshaw. He's a member of INGO as well.
