I am looking for a source of non hybrid non gmo seeds. I have looked into what I want to have. If anything happens no matter how many mason jars you have they will break. I have looked into diet and food preservation about 200 hundred years ago and am mainly looking at growing root crops, crops that can dehydrate easily and crops that dry naturally. I have seen many seed banks that offer alot of seeds but when you look at them they contain an unusually large number of lettuce alfalfa or other seeds not to my liking for this purpose. And they will be short on carrot say only a hundred. I am looking for quantity at a deent price. Not seed packs with 100 beet seeds. I am looking for ounces and pound quantity to get a discount. In other words I am not looking for a 10 grams of carrots that yeild 100 seeds I am looking for 5000 seeds roughly. I want to al a carte in quantity for a decent price. Preferably vaccum sealed. Any ideas or sources would be helpful. And any crops that can produce high sugar concentrations. I brew my own beer and am going to try fermenting some super sweet cantalopes I grew last year. These would just be for fuel purposes.

Are you familiar with "cloning"? Propagation through means other than 1 seed=1 plant is very important. Also, with the heirloom/heritage varieties you are seeking you should have no problem getting bulk in just one seasons grow time and as far as vacuum sealing, I do all my own! A vacuum sealer is only about $20, or you can go the Mylar bag/O2 absorber route, either way will give you what you asked for.

IMO part of prepping is being self reliant (actually all of prepping). When you have a need to be filled, you have two options, one being pay someone else to take care of it, the other being to do it yourself. What many of us need to ask ourselves before we run head first into a prepper lifestyle is "Am I serious about this or is it just the latest in a long line of trends/fads that I follow?". If your serious, I've given you the best advise you'll get, if you're posing, I'm sure you will find someone to sell you the latest, greatest stuff out there, but what will you do after your first growing season? I started an heirloom seed trading thread a few weeks ago, check it out and perhaps you can find what you are searching for.

    Try heirloomseeds.com

I've had very good results from heirloomseeds.com so I have to second Talshu's recommendation.

Out of all of the seeds I have ordered from them over the years I have only had one packet (commodore beans) that didn't give me a 100% germination rate.

Although the ones (about half the packet) that did germinate were very hardy & produced very well so I really can't complain too much.
