It's not time to celebrate or rest easy. The UN and its ideas make Sen. Feinstein look good in comparison. The UN has this idea of "One World Government" and the US and its Constitution are a HUGE roadblock to their agenda.

This is why people like Al Gore and Hillary Clinton are so much more dangerous than Diane Feinstein and Andrew Cuomo. Gore and Clinton are "global village" (elite-speak for one-world govt.) proponents. They don't really dirty themselves with all this messy gun control business, and piddly "rights". They have an entire society to sell-out to the promise of global "peace and prosperity". Not to mention the POWER that would come with that for the "ruling class".

No other document, treaty, or rules wrote on a napkin supersedes the Constitution. Why is that so hard to understand. Make a treaty, and then take that treaty and stick it in you ass. The idea that we have to even discuss this is bothersome to me.

By a vote of 53-46, the Senate passed the amendment to the budget bill sponsored by Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.).

Only 53% of US Senators are against the UN's attempt to usurp our Constitution? So much for that "protect and defend" part of the oath, huh?

Part of the explanation is this was an amendment to the budget bill. The Dems in the Senate know the budget bill is pretty DOA when it arrives at the house. They also know conservatives in the house reject the treaty. They probably think this may help the budget get through the house. Pretty slick move on their part.

Well that's good news. The battle is still far from over though and nobody should relax on this treaty. The U.N. needs to go back where they came from because the USA lives by the Constitution, not some rules they've written. Our officials and the U.N. need to be reminded of this. However, I am glad Indiana did not vote for this infringement on our rights.

Still though, is it a possibility this thing could still mean fewer imports of firearms and ammo into the US from the other nations that sign the treaty even if we don't?

Well I'm just glad it didn't get the votes but it sure was a lot closer than I would have wanted...

This doesn't mean the treaty battle is over by a long shot. This is one amendment added to a budget bill that likely will not get approved. Kerry is still in charge of your voice at the UN - feel good about that?

Right. What speaks to where we are is that there's only 53% of our senators that are on record as rejecting the UN overriding our Constitution. For the sake of arguement, one might be for UBC's or be able to justify limiting the size of magazines and still be able to look at you with a straight face when they say they support the 2A. But how can that person swear to protect and defend the Constitution and not summarily reject the premise of this treaty?

    Confusion

No. Both votes from IN were nay.

Just so there will be no confusion created by the above quote, the vote was on the following:

"To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty."

Coats and Donnelly Both voted "Yea".
