Severe Weather Preparedness Week: March 24-30, 2013
Wednesday, March 27, is the day when the test tornado warnings will be issued. The test warnings will be issued between 10:00 AM and 10:30 AM EDT and between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM EDT. You will probably hear the warning sirens in your area being sounded when the test warnings are issued.
For the ham radio operators in the group, most county Skywarn groups will be activating test nets when the test tornado warnings are sent. You are generally welcome to check in to your local Skywarn nets. If you live in the Indianapolis County Warning Area, you can find the frequency of your local Skywarn net at: Central Indiana Skywarn repeaters | Central Indiana Skywarn By the way, I maintain that map, so if you are aware of any discrepancies, please let me know. If you live in the North Webster (Fort Wayne-South Bend) County Warning Area, you can find your local Skywarn frequency at: IMO Repeater Frequencies If you are covered by the Louisville, Chicago, Paducah KY or Wilmington OH NWS office, check their web sites for Skywarn information.
