    (probably seen this one before)

Rachel is now 91 I think and she drives her 1964 Mercury Comet. While it's an awesome story, I also think it's totally awesome that she carries a revolver with her in the car. Revolver can be seen at about 2:20 in the video.

I just turned 100,000 today in my 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4. Only 400,000+ to go.

I'm thinking the truck will probably rust out before the engine quits though. Think my Cummins Diesel ought to go 1,000,000!:yesway:

The diesel will get to like 500-600k before it needs bearings and rings unless you take really good care of it then it should go a million........ the truck will make it to about 300k haha.

I'm doing my best...although the first 80k weren't put on by me. I'm an engineer with Cummins, so making sure I follow all the guidelines etc. for taking good care of it. :D

The old practice what you preach thing, you know? :yesway::)

I work for a company that transports RVs. I have seen 13 pickups pass the million mile mark. Twelve of them were Dodges, the other was a 7.3 Ford.

I think we've had a few of those Dodge owners come through our HQ in Columbus for 1,000,000 mile recognition. Great testament to how properly maintained vehicles (Dodge and Ford) can last quite a while.

Same thing for the lady in the OP...when you take care of stuff, it usually lasts a while.

Almost any car will last forever with proper maintenance. People just don't know how to do that. The car mentioned in the article had the engine rebuilt.

Yeah back then 300k miles was no problem...... now you are lucky to get to that in something american made.

No, most people considered a car worn out at 50K miles back then. My dad traded cars every three years or so when they had about 30K on them so he could get a better trade in. My first car was a 57 Ply with about 40k on it. Was considered will used then.

You have to remember, back then if you put 10k a year on a car you was a high mileage driver.
