I've been contemplating buying a receiver to accept Glock mags and build a SB pistol carbine.
I've been hesitant because of the price ($700 minimum), and I've heard several people regretting spending the money after they get it built.

Anyone have a short barrel, or rifle carbine that they don't regret building?

I built a 8.5in ar pistol with the kak shockwave in .223 wylde... Got my fiancee into shooting because it was so much fun. Did a partial trade for my ducati and regret it. Shes been begging me to build her one ever since.
I also own an uzi in 9mm. Once again an absolute blast.
Between these two firearms... I would be confident in saying that a pistol caliber carbine would been a great time to be had. If i had the funds for it, i would have built one by now, with out a doubt. Just like with anything. Everyone will have a different opinion. I say go for it. If you don't like it. Ill borrow it for as long as i can get away with. Haha

I have 3 pistol caliber AR's that I have built over the years. One is a 4" 9mm (glock pattern), one is a 5.5" 9mm (glock pattern) and one is a 5" .45ACP (glock pattern). I don't regret building any of them because I love building guns and adding to my collection. Were they "worth the money"? Probably not. Do i like having them in my collection....yep. Are they fun to shoot....HELL YEAH! Especially the AR-45 SBR when I run it suppressed. Whisper quiet.

That's actually why I'm leaning toward doing it. I've got a hybrid can that would be nice on one.

I recently got done building an ultra-short 9mm AR pistol (5" barrel, SB PDW collapsible brace). Took a bit of trial and error to get it running right, but MAN is it a fun shooter now!
