I had very good luck with Bushnell Banners. I have one on my H&R ultra slug and my
muzzleloader. They seem to hold up to recoil and very bright at dawn and dusk. I think
    they go for around $100.

I have a Leupold VX1 1-4x20 on my CVA Scout 12ga slug gun and I love it. Its very clear, lightweight, compact, and holds zero through 50+ 3" magnums and countless zooms from 1-4x. It was $200 and although I like it, if buying another, I would look at the Vortex Alan recommended above or the 1.75-5x32 Diamondback.
