My next rifle will be a SCAR 17. I'll be feeding the pig for awhile on this one so I thought I'd see what our INGO members have done to theirs.

Here's me with little Stella when I picked up mine from Midwest Gun Exchange. It's a Scar 16s. I got it used but it's in great shape. There's no mods except for the rear sight. The previous owner removed the rear sight to put on some optics. I took off his optics because it was a cheap piece of junk and put on a MI rear back up sight. I'll post some close up pics of the SCAR when I get a chance.

By the way, It is a great rifle, I love it.

Where is Midwest Gun Exchange? Looks like a nice shop. How much less was the used rifle compared to new?

LOVE MY SCAR!!! Mine is a black 16s, I run it with E-mags, a Troy vertical grip and ladder rail covers. Im currently saving for a NightForce scope and mount set up for it. Also i have a Vicking Tactics light mount and a SureFire 6PX tactical light that im gonna mount on it soon. Will post pics as soon as i get around to installing my cameras software on my PC.

Anyone have a lead on an ample supply of mags?

For the SCAR 17 or the SCAR 16?

Ive heard that FAL mags work in the 17 but idk for sure.

For the 16 MidwayUSA normally has E-mags in stock. Just make sure its the E-mag and not the P-mag bc ive hears the SCAR 16 doesnt like the P-mags much. I have a few of both but have never tried the P-mags in my SCAR 16.

DS arms has FAL mags in stock normally all the time, if they will work in the SCAR 17 that is.

    Hope this helps.

They will not work without modification

Ya, I love that pic too. My wife took it after I put the new rear sight on. Just to add a bit of info, she was holding little Emma, Stella's twin sister. I have to say, Midwest Guns has treated me well over the years.

Here's a few better pics of my SCAR

17s. If modifying FAL mags produces a reliable, inexpensive alternative to the FN mags count me in.
