Feeling around for any interest in an emergency trauma bag... Price is looking right at about 120 cash depending on interest. If there is alot of interest price will drop....If anyone is interested let me know and we can get this bandwagon rolling.

Quick clot, if you can get it. Works great on GSW's and Knife wounds. Also, Nasal Airways (those things are so multipurpose), Asherman Chest seals, for sucking chest wounds!

I think you have assembled a good collection of equipment here. Put me down as a definite maybe. I agree that some Quik Clot would be nice. The stuff is really expensive though. Hopefully a bulk buy could significantly reduce the price.

I could care less about competition in Medical bag kits... However I would avoid Quick Clot like the plague, unless you know exactly what your doing with it. There is a(are several actually) reason they aren't carried on ambulances.

This is more of a trauma bag than redneckmedic's.. his are more for the lay person with everyday use 1st aid training... This is an intermidiate ALS/BLS hybrid bag.

Reneckmedic's bags seem to me to be more designed for bug out, my bags are an extended bug out. This bag is for situations where you dont know when you could seek medical treatment.

i guess a good analogy is:

redneckmedics's bags to immeidacare as my bags to methodist trauma center?

With due homage to RedNeckMedic, use blood-stanching meds if you have any.

"Swift-Stat" Blood Clotter aerosol, 3 oz @ $10 from various sources. You can get it in lots of 12 at a lower cost. Works great on GSW's and Knife wounds, punctures and gash-wounds and major abrasions in the woods. Spray it on the dressing, not in the wounds. I'd use it on myself, but surely tell ProMed EMT when they arrived, what I had done. OBTW, I'm looking for a source of medical quality Sulpha; any leads? $3.00

This is closer to a treatment bag here in the Military... A good load out if you are intending to not treat more than one person with major trauma. If you are looking at a go to war trauma bag this is closer to what is needed. Just my .02.

Instead of an Ashleman seal use plastic wrap.
Duct tape cause sometimes med tape will to stick to skin.
LOTS of CAt or SOF-T Tourniquets!

You need a stethoscope for listening for fluid on the lungs in procedures, BP cuff makes an excellent tournequit, Plastic wrap is hard to wrap on an immobile patient, Ice pack is good for heat casualties, agreed, BVM should be ditched in favor of a simple mask for CPR, no need for safety glasses (u can use your shooting glasses), Surgical masks are good for plague, H1N1 breakout, etc.., last but not least, NEVER ditch airways, they aren't always just usefull for airways, but Airways are always needed JIK. Also add betadine. Alcohol is good for sterilizing while wet, but once it dries, it doesn't work anymore. Where Betadine is still sterile while dry.

Oh and ArmyMP, what would this cost minus the bag? I already have a MOLLE med Bag from my Time as FMF Corpsman.

(BTW, HEMOSTATS, why did everyone forget hemostats)

Kit itself.. around 60.. + or - any parts you wanted remove or added... I can get 10 or 20% off normal price depending on interest...

A gerber or leatherman makes a good hemostat
Not for clamping off multiple bleeders while performing an amputation or tracheotomy.

And that price is actually reasonable. Let me know when you get it all together.
