Sig P229 grip question

I bought a new Sig P229 yesterday. It came with a really nice set of wood grips on it, however they seem to be a handful for me. I had a stock set of grips off of an older P229 I used to own. There's a little date stamp inside one grip panel, and it's dated 1995. They will not fit. Are there any Sig authorities here who can tell me. Do I need a newer set of stock grips, or what's my next option?

If your new p229 is a E2 then the grips are different.
