With the daylight continuing to get shorter, I have started thinking about one of my favorite winter carry guns. A Sig Sauer P239 in 9mm. Yes it may be a little heavier than other options, but what can I say, I love this gun. So, I decided to create a post and share some pictures for you Sig fans.

Of interest to some, this gun is actually an all German model. It has all the appropriate markings with Triple S/Ns, proofs, etc. I have everything that came with it from when it was new. Box, test target, manual, etc.

Well, I think I have already made my weekend plans now.

The P-239 is a really nice carry pistol. Very accurate and very reliable. In fact I liked it so much I bought one for my daughter to carry! :D

my 239 started my sig addiction, but i didn't know they made german 239's, i thought they were all american made, mine has night sites, and hogue rosewood grips(i found them at a gunshop about 3 months ago for 30.00 nib) and i must say those shoes look good on that ol' gal

my 226 is a german (made in 88) with hogue rugger grips, and regular sites.

my browning bda45 (sig 220 european) has the factory plastic grips(that say browning on the side) and factory sites. (the front site is not changeable), i'd love to find a set of nos hogue rubber grips for it but i cant find any, i guess i'll just end up with another set of wood grips on her.

just be careful, next thing you know you'll end up with a second safe, full of sigs!

The P226 kinda started the bug for me. I have slowly been adding all the classic P series pistols. When it's hot out the P238 usually gets the nod from me.

I do know there are some other all German P239s out there, but you really do not see them that often. Mine is a very early model. 96 to be specific.

Very beautiful piece! I like the two tone. I had actually seen one like it, with the rosewood grips, for sale in the classifieds of AR15.com. I thought I had a deal made, and the guy backed out! I later found an all blued version here on INGO and picked it up as my first Sig. I like the P228 a little better I think, because you get a little more capacity and it really doesn't seem to add much size for carry.

I carried a 239 for years but then my wife got me a 1911 and have been carrying that. I have been considering switching back to the P239. The long grip of the 1911 is a bit annoying while carrying and the P239 is unnoticeable. It also makes me sad that my 10th anniversary gift is getting scratches and holster wear.

Then again, I hate for such a nice gift to sit in the safe.

I enjoy my Sig 239. I've considered buying another on. The current one I have is a .40 cal but I'm wanting a 9mm two tone someday.

I have a P239 in .357 SIG, I'm trying to find one with the DAK trigger but appearantly they are few and far between.

The P239 is a great gun for sure. I had one that I used to carry all the time but sold it off for a gun with a little more capacity but there are days I definitely miss it. Great trigger from the factory.

You know that if some Air Marshalls carry the 239 as a duty weapon that it's a good gun.

I used to think I wanted one but have changed my mind.

I'd love a 239 as it is by far my favorite sig. I'd either want 9mm or .357 sig and I would prefer two tone. The price hurts it bad for me anyway as I can get a smaller gun, same or more capacity, for much less cost.

i still want one, but I bet I can never afford one.
