    i believe the 1897 coin is in fact a Barber dime.

    i believe the 1897 coin is in fact a Barber dime.

    I could be wrong, but based on the size of the 1897 coin it appears to be a quarter IMO. The reverse side of the coin will tell you whether it's a quarter or a dime. The Reverse side of a Barber Quarter has an Eagle with its wings spread whereas the Barber Dime has the words "ONE DIME" in large letters.
