I picked this gun up at a show a few weeks ago for a GOOD price. I hated the finish so I got out some sandpaper and played around a little...next thing I know I've got 2 new mags and a pretty decent looking plinker that shoots straight!

Thanks guys. I got the look I was wanting. I wanted that old used worn wood. I've seen some beautiful immaculate wood on some refinished sks's but I didn't put near that effort or detail into this. I didn't use anything to try to get any oil out of the wood. That left it dark around the receiver and grip where the wood was more saturated.

That's a good looking AK I'd like to get my hands on a project like that and save the $$ that would be spent towards a new one to buy ammo. It does make you puff up a little to see your finished product and get a few compliments on it. Good job!
