So I bought a scratch off lottery ticket yesterday for $2. Won $4, so I parlayed the bet and got $10. So I normally stop, but instead got a $10 ticket. Well I won $20.
So now the question is do I go for the $20 ticket or cash in?

What say yey O wise minds of INGO?

2 weeks ago I ate lunch at my favorite eating place. Gave the waitress $20. 2 lunches were $12. Got my change of $8. Tipped the waitress $2, put $5 in my wallet, which left me $1. Bought a $1 dollar pull tab, 2nd pull showed me $100. Gave the waitress and the cook each $10, and headed out the door.

I've never purchased a lottery ticket and don't intend to, but if the OP has it to spend and chooses that venue of entertainment...why shouldn't he? It's his own money, and I'm sure he worked for it. Whaddup, buttercup?

He can do whatever he wants. He asked for advice and got some. Nothing more.

I play for a million+ dollars or nothing. Why bother playing if it won't change your life?
The $2 was entertainment money. If you feel differently about the $20, then keep it.

If you are going to play, only play when the payout is higher than the odds.
    You gotta play to win
You will always miss 100% of the shots you don't take

now come on, this is not "taking a shot" in life. This is participating in something that is rigged to make you a loser and you have no opportunity to change it.

edit: no idea where my red face smiley came from, or how to remove it

I don't play very often and would never normally buy a 20$ ticket. Not that $20 is going to break me but I could always buy ammo or something useful with it.
I think I'm gonna let it ride and try again.
Like others said $20 isn't going to change my life and you'll never win if you don't play.
I will be sure to update this thread from my new yacht!

The House always wins in the end. If you wish to keep playing. Put $10 in your pocket and play with the rest.

    ^^^^^^^^ Definitely this^^^^^^^^^

Winning is a fluke. Losing is the norm. Join me in the ancient good fortune dance of my people and who knows.

But if not, add $2.50 more to that $20 and buy an e-cigarette starter kit @ Costco and start developing some really bad habits.....

I won't buy anything less than a $5 scratch off. If it's not life changing money..why bother? The odds are stacked against you, but people do win all the time.

And I still have to work Monday.
It was a bust. But with only a $2 investment it was worth the entertainment.
Plus my $20 loser gets me into arfpocalypse.
