Selling for a friend now in a nursing home. Believe this gun was produced between 1952 and 1955. It is in great condition for it's age and the action is smooth. There is some patina on the barrel, a few very small chips on the stocks and a 1 in scratch on the barrel. There is no adjustable choke and I noticed on Gun Broker that most sell had the choke. Not sure what this means. As to the overall quality of this fine gun--go to google and find an article titled "A review of the Sears & Roebuck J.C. HIggins Model 20". Just a portion of the review (done in 2014) states " Overall I believe the Model 20 is one of the best pump action shotguns produced in post war America--------never malfunctions, missed mark, or failed to discharge under harsh weather conditions". Prices of ones that sold on Gun Broker run from $250 to $500. With this one there is no shipping cost or taxes.
