well I seen one at the crown point gun show last weekend ( I think it was a tactical model?) but it was a two tone silver/black. I am looking for an all silver one. It isn't chrome, im really not sure what the proper color is called but its like a flat silver? I believe a member here has one (show your pics please). If any gun shops you know have one , spill it! name and location. price if you know it as well.

Bob (Plainfield Shooting Supply) has a Rock Island 1911, nickel plated with smooth hardwood grips. Price is less than 440 and more than 438. Very nice. Exactly the same as the piece my son acquired a couple weeks ago.

Looks like someone either chromed/nickeled a tactical model or put the tactical accessories (trigger, sights, hammer, etc.) on a standard nickel model one.

    Hey, that's my picture :)

I bought it from Bob at Plainfield shooting supplies for $429 brand new in box in November.

It looks slightly different now, just changed the grips.

I've looked all around for this same 1911, however the only thing I can find is the nickel which is just to shiny. Bradis supposedly had one but it was not there the last time I was in.

Good luck, and if you find it... Pick it up as I doubt it would be there on your next trip.
