20 years ago I probably would have made a point to inform the local fire chief of the amount and location of my ammunition storage so the firefighters would be aware in the event that they were called to that location. Unfortunately, with the nanny-state government we now "enjoy", I'm not about to do it. Now I don't feel too bad about that decision...

Very informative, also very cool to watch. I have had 22s go off in a camp fire but would not have expected these results in large scale ammo fires.

I've had several different things blow up in the same room as me, mostly pressured cans, might scare the crap out of you, but there are many other things to worry about in a residence fire over ammunition. Now you your mini barn out back... that's some dangerous stuff!

    Great video, thanks for posting.

I'd very much like to see some similar tests using varying amounts of reloading components, stored various ways.

    Repped. Thanks for posting.

I have no experience fighting ammunition fires, but I can now debunk a few friends' stories about throwing ammo in a fire.

the SAMMI website lists a VHS/DVD titled "Smokeless Powder and the Fire Service".

They don't appear to have a digital copy available.
