I been wanting an Staccato P DPO for some time, I rented one a while back and don't remember really what was like. I found one at a local shop and was able to get a good feel for it, unfortunately I had a difficult time holding on to it. I have what I consider large hands and wasn't able to reach the trigger comfortably, I was barely able to reach the trigger. the grip itself does feel like a 2X4 (I was expecting a much more ergonomic grip), the trigger itself was not what I expected. while I understand its a duty oriented pistol in my opinion the trigger needs work and for a $2500.00 handgun that shouldn't be the case, the texture of the grip is not very good. at that price it should have better texture out of the box considering that is a duty oriented.

Personally I like the new texture on the grips , much easier on the skin when carrying compared to the old tree bark finish. The trigger is OK I definitely agree on that but as stated it's a "duty" trigger at 4# even with a very clean break (at least on my P).

Interesting how the pistol fits other people's hands, I have medium sized hands and have kit had an issue (though a Glock 17 gives me the 2x4 feeling).

Definitely not a pistol for everyone, maybe a very heavily cajunized CZ?

On the positive side I handle a DW Specialist and its an awesome pistol, I may go for the DW.
The Specialist (with the matte finish) has long been one of my "grail guns", and my stars aligned a couple months ago. The hardest decision you have in front of you is commander vs govt. I went govt and LOVE it... and now I'm on the hunt for a commander. I can't imagine you'll ever be sorry if you can add either to your stash.
