Drink beer and talk guns, WOW, does it get any better than this?
We are thinking about starting a new club near Lafayette. If you think you would like to join fellow gun owners and talk guns, issues of the day, have seminars, swap and trade, and, have occasional guest speakers, then send me an e-mail, do not PM me at aldanbnb@yahoo.com. There will be an FFL and a gunsmith in attendance.
We are planning to meet the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm.
The little shop we will be renting can only hold 20 or so people so we will have to have a sign up requirement.
The shop will have hot beverages, beer, wine, soft drinks, and hot dogs for sale.
The first meeting will be free but after that it will be $10 per person to cover rent of shop.
Let me know if you are interested.

No pm’s gotcha. For anonymity sake where is the shop? I’m assuming selling alcohol is legal. Been down that road, rented the conservation club at 25 n 65 one day a year for 20 years. Might make it hard to drive from very far away without a designated. Just a few of my many questions before I give my e-mail add.

If you want to get away from shop rent, and don't mind moving the event... I can offer up a room at the VFW in Rensselaer free. I'm Commander up here, and we have to do "community service" stuff anyway. That's only a half hr away, and may get more NWI people involved. Food, and drink can be had here as well, plus gaming, darts, and you'd be supporting America's combat veterans.

I might be able to get a couple of others to come, but the first meeting will say a lot about the future of the group.
Without knowing much about it, it's going to be harder to sell.

do not PM me at aldanbnb@yahoo.com
    Just an observation.

Do you realize that this looks like a way to collect personal contact info? Scammers frequently ask folks to take the communication off the platform that the communication originates on.

It's also not a good idea to post an email address in the open for robots to skim and add YOU to the many spam databases out there. So it makes it easy to suspect the the email provided is a throwaway that won't be around long, so no reason to worry about spam.

You are announcing a meeting with no location info up front.

Add in the fact that you are a long time member with few posts.

There are some red flags in the way you are going about this.

I'm not accusing anyone of anything, just pointing out why you may not be getting much response. The board has a setting where when you get a PM you receive an email from the board if you don't want to be constantly checking.

These are just some observations since I am not close enough to attend.

And I could be mistaken, but their are only two places in battle burg that sell alcohol, a package store and the BGL, a restaurant. BGL is an old name but what old timers still call it. Maybe the biker shop got a license now but I’m not going to look it up till I know more. And not giving my e-mail to anybody I don’t know. Just my two cents.

I was not announcing a meeting, I was asking if there was enough interest to warrant one.
As far as location that will be in the event listing, Battle Ground ain't that big, but the owners did not want me to give that out until we knew if we were doing it.
You are probably right about putting my email out there.
    Thanks for the advice.

Sorry, I have not checked this in a while. I posted it on the events as we had enough people interested. The first meeting is free but after that it is $10 to cover rent. The meetings are once a month, so $10 a month. Yes, Mr. Young.

Sir: With respect I ask you if you have a financial interest in this establishment? 20 ppl. At 10.00 bucks per month X 12 months plus the sale of food and alcohol seems at first glance to be a marketing strategy, considering it is already an existing business.

And I don’t have a bit of a problem with that. I’m a dyed in the wool capitalist it’s the American way. But I want to know when I’m paying for something and what I’m getting for my money.

A long-standing member in a similar market area has already offered a free establishment with approximately a dozen documented interested individuals that would save each member 10.00 bucks per month. With similar situation’s.

I’m pointing this out because this idea interest me personally, I own ~8 burial spots in the cemetery at Battle Ground. 3 generations of my family are buried there. I and my wife will be buried there. And we are Catholic and could be buried in consecrated ground. I have long standing ties to Battle Ground and don’t mind supporting it, but I want to know all of the facts.

I made that s curve shaped mail box holder going South first house after the battle ground on 9th street rd. going into Lafayette, for an uncle that owned the property. Another uncle owned the property that is now an INDOT substation and gravel pit across Burnett Creek. Just asking, want to help. Your an hour drive from me.

    Hey Mij, thanks for asking.
At the first free meeting, if you attend, you will be introduced to my wife and daughter that own and run The Plant Pub and serve during events.
I made a few mistakes in trying to get this organized as this is the first time I've done something like this.
As far as the offer of the VFW post in Rensselaer is concerned, the cost in gas alone from the Lafayette area would be more then the $10. Also they do not have an FFL on site.
As far as the " dozen documented interested individuals" where did you get that number?
I have 6 INGO members signed up so far, who am I missing?
Since you know Battleground so well you probably know me or know of me, as the guy that does all the shooting north of town.
Let me know if you are going to join us.

Sir, after typing the above I gave some thought to “when was the last time I was actually in BG”. To my surprise it was 2011 when I buried my younger brother. It was shocking to me to say the least. Time has a way of speeding by as you get older.

As to the part about documented numbers I’m referring to the approximate numbers of respondents in the gentlemens post offering his club, admittedly I didn’t count the exact number.

I’m considering contacting you, but as you say the cost of gas is a consideration, but frankly it cost me the same to go anywhere. Sorry if I gave offense it was definitely not my intent. And if I don’t see you before Christmas please have a great holiday, you and your family.
