Curious if anyone else is having problems finding their draw results. Employer wants my vacation dates and results aren't posted on link in confirmation email.

Anyone else put in for one? Applied for Ft. Ben S.P. and Summit Lake S.P.

Good luck to all this deer season.

I believe that the results come out around the 15th.
Correction:::I just checked and saw that the SP results show that they are available but it came up with an error.

Hopefully you did not put in for both SP for the same dates. That voids you from either hunt. Just mentioning it, just in case.

    Good luck with getting drawn

I put in for Brown County SP

Noticed the results are in for the dove hunt draw

Results were supposed to be available after 9-4-16.
I put in for both the early and late hunts in Prophetstown State park.
I've checked 3-4 times now and keep coming up with "no results found".
I assumed that meant I was not drawn.
I'll keep checking back I guess.

I was also getting the "no records found' so I just called the DNR and they are having problems getting the results posted. The lady I spoke with said they hope to have them up within a couple of days.

    Results are up now.
I was "unsuccessful" on both applications.

Just got an email that results are posted and I got drawn but both my buddies don't show up rather it shows as null under both. Weird as they both got confirmation emails about being registered

I noticed the application stated that there would be preference given to applicants who provided a hunters education number... I can't recall what they call it, but I am exempt from the requirement.

I feel this policy is discriminatory in practice.
Why give preferential treatment to one class over another?

I was not required to take the class but I did for the preference you receive for the reserve hunts. I would suggest taking it online and getting your hunt Ed # for the future.

Yes. Its around $20. I am also not required but took the class to receive the preference. I was successfully drawn for the hunt I applied for.

Preferential treatment or not, that is CRAP!
I am a veteran, a firearms instructor, and a life-long hunter in the state of Indiana.

This is nothing more than one more ruse to extract funds.

I'm not arguing with you about it. I'm actually glad I took the hunters education class, I'm not afraid to admit that I learned a few things from it. It was money well spent in my opinion. I certainly don't think that encouraging people to take an education course is a bad idea, especially if I am going to be sharing the woods of a state park with them to hunt. It doesn't matter how long you've been hunting you can always learn something new.

Its not a ruse to extract funds, there is not a requirement that you take the course. You just get better odds of being drawn if you do.

Ever hear the term, "Pay to play"?

First- there is no requirement to take a course to apply and even get drawn. I am sure there are some that have been drawn that do not have the class.

Second- the $20 cost was for the online class, which is run and managed by a third party and probably the reason for the fee. I bet DNR does not see a dime of it.

Third- do your own research, there are several local classes offered that are FREE! https://www.register-ed.com/programs/indiana/agency:25.?

    Now what's your excuse?
