From what im reading It seems like i would want a heavy buffer at least as heavy as my factory carbine buffer, if i was going to swap to an a2 stock.?All the while replacing the the buffer tube with an a2 tube.

Are there any benefits to an A2 vs carbine/collapsible stock? My dad is passing down his old Colt Sporter Lightweight to me and it has a A2 style stock. Trying to decide if I just wanna run that on it or change it to the collapsible.
